PIZZERIA 121 OPENS IN NORTH SALEM NY JUNE 2009

NORTH SALEM, NY- A contemporary Neighborhood eatery will open mid-June at 1Dingle Ridge Road and RT 121 located near 121 Restaurant and Bar in Westchester’s North Salem NY. Featuring Westchester’s best Wood fired pizza, sandwiches, salads, and many other simple pleasures. With a focus on nutrition, quality and value, Pizzeria 121 will be a friendly new neighborhood place to dine and linger, take food out or get delivery.

The centerpiece of Pizzeria 121 will be an 8 foot wide custom built wood fired oven adjacent to the entrance, in which the many of the menu offerings will be baked on a Grill pivot. Crusts will be consistently thin and crisp-charred given the 1000 degree temperature maintained within the oven.

Chef/Partner Peter DeVito has been stationed to create an authentic menu as well as supervise the Neapolitan style pizza. Peter will draw his inspiration from locally raised, wholesome ingredients, the traditions of Naples and a belief that the most humble of foods offer us the greatest pleasure when done right.

Owners Michele and Joe Savino have a passion for pizza. 20 years ago when they moved to Westchester and weren’t overly impressed with their Pizza options they decided to build a wood burning pizza oven in their back yard. They have been collaborating on the Pizzeria 121 concept, menu and hospitality ever since. Originally from Brooklyn NY they have been on a lifelong search for a pizza that was good as in their child hood.

Following upon the 121 reputation for offering guest a memorable atmosphere, service, and food at a reasonable price, the owners aim to please both neighbors and out-of-towners looking for an easy-going, new Pizza experience and destination.

Hospitality, quality and a vibrant crowd will be the hallmark of the Savino/DeVito culinary and conceptual collaboration at Pizzeria 121.
